FASCISM; FASCIST:
Hey, kids! Let’s learn two new and useful words that you can use everyday with your friends and the people with whom you associate! These words are “fascism” and “fascist.” Perhaps you’ve already heard them. But, what do they mean?
“Fascism” is an authoritarian, anti-democratic political ideology or movement that that believes in using violence, or the threat of violence, to further its racist, nationalist agenda and silence and suppress its political opponents. A “fascist,” therefore, is someone who believes in this ideology, or participates in this movement.
This word is so useful in everyday conversation today because fascism is alive and well in America and there are probably fascists all around you. Perhaps your neighbor is a fascist. Perhaps there are fascists in your very own family!
So, these are handy words to describe those neighbors or family members, and the ideas and positions they advocate. Now you can use it with confidence, as when you say:
“The fascist Trump supporter” or “The fascist anti-American Trump media” or “The fascist Republican Party.” Now you know exactly what you are saying, and you are describing perfectly those fascists.
Use these words freely, and teach others the meanings of these handy and useful words today!
