Old Friends

 OLD FRIENDS

Old friends,

            Like old clothes,

                        Are well-worn.

They fit you well.

            They are a relaxed fit.

So you wear your old friends

            All the time,

Even if your old friends are frayed

            Here and there.

There may be some wear and tear,

            Something that needs to be patched,

                        Perhaps a new button or two.

Then your old friends

            Are as good as new.

Without such old friends

You'd walk around naked,

            And soon be arrested

                        For indecent exposure.
