A HARD CHOICE
The Emperor lectured his knights.
They were all battle scarred
And had fought very hard
Against foes in all foreign lands.
But the Emperor said
The real foes were here,
Right here in our own homeland.
"The serfs don't like me," the Emperor said,
"They want to chop off my head.
So I want you all now to all leave this hall
And go out and chop off their heads."
The knights listened as the Emperor raved on,
They listened to his monotone voice
As he spewed hatred and bile,
And all the while,
They knew they must make a hard choice.
